ADVANCING THE BLUE ECONOMY
The collaboration between the Unmanned Coast and USM’s Gulf Blue Navigator program has been instrumental in advancing the blue economy along the MS Gulf Coast. Together, they have co-hosted various networking events, workshops, and demonstration opportunities aimed at bringing together entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and governmental agencies to bolster economic growth through blue tech advancements.
One of their key collaborative efforts is Unmanned Coast’s role in mentoring the program's cohort, providing expertise in market development, commercialization, and technology transfer. The program has enabled startups to develop and test their technologies in South Mississippi, with Unmanned Coast helping companies access federal contracts, secure funding, connect with key industry stakeholders, as well as partnerships between cohort members and federal agencies like NOAA and NAVO. This collaboration has seen significant success such as including job creation, introduction of new products/services, and stronger business networks.
Unmanned Coast plays a pivotal role in supporting growth through partnerships, including tech startups addressing critical challenges in the marine environment. These partners, such as Mythos AI, LeVanta Tech, and Oscilla Power, are at the forefront of developing technologies like autonomous vessels, versatile drones, and wave energy converters.
